The decision by Bundestag President Julia Klöckner to ban the flying of the rainbow flag at the Bundestag has rightly caused disbelief and anger among many. In a country that has enshrined diversity, tolerance, and fundamental rights in its banners, such a ban seems like a relapse into dark times. To send such a signal, especially on Christopher Street Day, is not only a disastrous political message—it is also a gift to the AfD, which has been inciting hatred against queer visibility for years.
That Ms. Klöckner is pursuing a course of action that appeals to the far right is particularly galling. As President of the Bundestag – the second-highest office in the country – she bears an enormous responsibility for democratic cohesion and for the representation of all people living in this country. This responsibility has clearly been either misunderstood or negligently ignored.
One inevitably wonders if people weren't paying attention in history class. Especially in a country like Germany, which should have learned from the horrors of the past, the visibility of minorities – particularly at the heart of democracy – must be protected and promoted.
Fortunately, there are counterexamples: Berlin's public transport company (BVG) shows how to take a stand. Not only did they light up the "Bundestag" subway station in rainbow colors, but the BVG also participated in Christopher Street Day (CSD) with a truck. A powerful symbol of diversity, openness, and solidarity – all without grand pronouncements, but with all the more heart.
Ms. Klöckner's decision has not brought calm, but rather unleashed a storm. And this storm is not only coming from queer people, but from everyone who wants a free, diverse, and modern Germany. It's high time to correct this mistake – and finally recognize that the rainbow flag is not a "political statement," but a symbol of humanity.

A whimsical encounter
A humorous encounter: Fred, Detlef, Willi and fat Gerd
On a sunny Saturday afternoon, Fred strolled through the busy pedestrian zone of his home town. Wearing his usual short shirt and relaxed look, he was on the lookout for his best friend Detlef, who could never be far away. And sure enough, there he was - Detlef, as always in his tight jeans and T-shirt that emphasized his impressive muscles. Standing next to him was Willi, a mutual friend with a broad smile and a penchant for quirky sayings.
„Fred! Come here, let's sit down in the café over there! Willi and I are thirsty,“ Detlef called out in his typical loud voice. Fred nodded and joined them. The three of them looked for a table outside and ordered cool lemonades. While they were chatting, they were unexpectedly joined by Gerd, an old acquaintance who always stood out with his distinctive laugh and his wealth.
„Well, you muscle men, do you have room for the fat man?“ asked Gerd with a grin.
„Sure, Gerd, but make sure the chair can take it!“ Detlef countered with a wink, which caused everyone to burst out laughing. Another chair was quickly pulled up and the four of them were complete.
After a good hour, they decided to continue the relaxed atmosphere in a beer garden. „Now it's time for something serious - beer and pretzels!“ announced Willi, and the others agreed with him.
Once in the beer garden, the group found a shady table. It wasn't long before the first round of beer was served. After the second round, the conversations got louder and fat Gerd told one story after another - each one more absurd than the last. Fred could hardly sit still from laughing, while Detlef began to use his beer mug as an imaginary microphone and belt out songs at the top of his voice.
Some of the other guests were already scowling at them, and finally the landlord approached the table. In a slightly annoyed but friendly tone, he said: „Boys, I don't want to spoil your fun, but you're a bit too loud. Maybe you can spend the rest of the evening somewhere else?“
„No problem, boss,“ Detlef replied with a laugh. „But we'll be back - you have the best beer in town!“
The four of them packed their things and moved on through the city, laughing. Although they weren't allowed to stay longer in the beer garden that evening, it was exactly the kind of experience that always strengthened their friendship. And Fred, Detlef, Willi and fat Gerd knew that this would not be their last adventure.

The bridge in the
A story about friendship: "The Bridge in the Forest"„
In a small village surrounded by a dense forest lived two unlikely friends: Lina, the adventurer with perpetually dirty hands and sparkling eyes, and Karl, a quiet thinker who preferred to sit with a book under a tree. Although they couldn't have been more different, they shared a deep friendship.
One day, after a fierce storm had swept through the village, Lina and Karl discovered that the old wooden bridge connecting the village to the forest had been destroyed. This bridge had been their secret gateway to a magical world filled with stories they constantly invented. Without the bridge, their access to their shared adventures was blocked.
Lina jumped up immediately. "We have to repair the bridge!" she cried excitedly. "Otherwise we'll never be able to have our adventures again!"„
Karl, recognizing the magnitude of the task, frowned. "We have no tools, and even if we did, how are we supposed to build such a large bridge? We're not carpenters."„
But Lina didn't give up. "Maybe not, but we have something much more important: our imagination and our will."„
Karl sighed, but a small flame began to burn inside him. "All right," he said finally. "But we need a plan."„
Together they set to work. Lina scoured the forest for suitable branches, planks, and ropes left behind by the storm. Meanwhile, Karl sat on a tree stump with a sheet of paper and sketched a simple but sturdy construction.
Day after day they worked, supporting each other and overcoming obstacles they could never have managed alone. Lina kept their spirits up by entertaining Karl with stories of magical creatures that supposedly lurked behind the trees. Karl, in turn, reminded Lina to be careful when she became a little too daring.
After weeks of hard work, the new bridge was finished. It was nowhere near as elegant as the old one, but it was stable and robust – and most importantly: it was their joint achievement.
That evening, when the bridge was finished, they sat in the middle of the structure, dangling their legs over the water, and watched the sunset. "You know, Karl," said Lina, "we've accomplished something incredible. Not because of the bridge itself, but because we did it together."„
Karl nodded and smiled. "Perhaps that's the true magic of friendship. No matter how different we are, together we can achieve anything."„
From that day on, the bridge was not just a path into the forest, but a symbol of their friendship. No matter what life brought, they knew they could count on each other – whether to experience new adventures or to rebuild old bridges.

Recognize testosterone deficiency
Tiredness, muscle atrophy, loss of libido? When testosterone levels drop, this is noticeable throughout the body. We explain how you can recognize testosterone deficiency, what the causes can be - and how you or your partner can get back into balance.
What is testosterone deficiency?
Testosterone is the most important male sex hormone. It not only influences muscle building and libido, but also mood, concentration and vitality. A deficiency occurs when the body permanently produces too little testosterone - in medical terms this is called Hypogonadism.
Symptoms: You should take these signs seriously
A testosterone deficiency often becomes noticeable gradually. The most common symptoms include
- Tiredness and listlessness
- Declining libido and erection problems
- Muscle loss and weight gain (especially in the abdomen)
- Depressive moods and irritability
- Concentration problems
- Less body hair
- Increased risk of osteoporosis
These symptoms can also have other causes, which is why a medical examination is important.
Who is affected?
Natural testosterone production decreases from the age of 40 slowly. However, younger men can also be affected, e.g. by:
- Genetic factors
- Diseases such as diabetes or kidney failure
- Side effects of medication
- Testicular injuries or operations
- Obesity and chronic stress
The diagnosis: How testosterone deficiency is diagnosed
The most important examination is a Blood sample taken early in the morning, in which the total and free testosterone levels are determined. The hormones LH and FSH are also measured to clarify the cause.
Tip: Contact a Endocrinologists, urologists or andrologists - They know the most about hormonal disorders.
Treatment: these options are available
If there is a deficiency that requires treatment, a Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) help. Various forms are available:
- Gel for application to the skin
- Long-term injections (every 2-12 weeks)
- Testosterone patch
- Implants under the skin
The therapy must regularly checked too high values are also unhealthy.
Are there natural ways to increase testosterone levels?
Yes, especially for mild cases or to support therapy:
- Strength training Stimulates natural production
- Healthy diet (lots of zinc, omega-3, vitamin D)
- Sufficient sleep
- Stress reduction and mindfulness
- Less alcohol and nicotine
These measures are not only hormone-friendly, but also improve your general well-being.
Conclusion: It's worth listening!

Dr. med. Kai Breuer, specialist in urology and andrology:
„Testosterone deficiency is not a rare phenomenon - and above all it's nothing to be ashamed of. Many men don't take initial symptoms such as fatigue, loss of libido or weight gain seriously at first. However, it is worth clarifying this: with a simple blood test, we can quickly see whether there is a hormone imbalance. If a deficiency is detected, we can achieve very good results with modern, individually tailored therapies - and significantly improve quality of life. It is important: Do not resort to dietary supplements on your own, but seek medical advice.“

A story about the Berlin CSD

The sun shone brightly over Berlin as the streets filled with a rainbow of colors, sounds and smiling faces. It was Christopher Street Day, and the city pulsated with an energy that was both celebratory and combative.
At the heart of it all was a group of friends who gathered every year for this special occasion. There was Maria, the activist who had been fighting for queer rights for years. And Jonas, the artist who created the most dazzling costumes. And then there was Ben, who was new to the city and experiencing Pride for the first time.
As the parade began, Ben marveled at the diversity and pride that filled the streets. Floats with loud music, dancing people in all the colors of the rainbow, and signs with powerful messages. Maria told him about the history of Christopher Street Day, the Stonewall riots in New York, and the fight for equality that was also waged in Berlin.
Jonas, completely in his element, danced with strangers as if they were old friends. He explained to Ben that Christopher Street Day (CSD) wasn't just a celebration, but also an important political statement. "We're showing that we're here, that we're diverse, and that we won't be intimidated," he shouted over the loud music.
In the evening, as the parade drew to a close and dusk fell over the city, the friends stood at the Brandenburg Gate. Before them, the monument glowed in the colors of the rainbow. Ben was overwhelmed by the day's experiences. He had witnessed not just a party, but a demonstration of love, acceptance, and courage.
„I now understand why Pride is so important,“ he told his friends. „It’s more than just a celebration. It’s a fight for a world where everyone can be themselves.“
Maria smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Welcome to our family, Ben. And welcome to the CSD."„
