Mill internal

If only, then only: hospital bed & server crash

Murphy's law in its purest form: as soon as I'm lying in a hospital bed myself, our server thinks he has to show solidarity - and lies down too.
Difference: With me, a little maintenance is enough, with WordPress the „wake up button“ is more of an expedition through menus, logs and cryptic error messages.

Fred and IT - an eternal love story

Fred, my husband, has about as much to do with computers as a cow has to do with ice skating. And that's no coincidence! He wants can't do it.
In fact, this is the most ingenious strategy for avoiding IT work: simply pretend you don't understand it - and all the stress is left to your partner.
👉 Fun fact: Fred's only „admin command“ is: „Honey, can you take a look?“

The mill on Linux legs

The Gaymill runs on a dedicated Linux server that I maintain myself. And this time? No one to blame. No hackers, no sabotage - at most, the automatic WordPress updates that secretly break things at night.
👉 Fun fact: Updates are like small children - they like to come unexpectedly and upset everything.

Back at the wheel

The good news: I'm back on my feet, my sleeves are rolled up and troubleshooting is underway. Some module caused the crash - and I'm going to find out which one.
👉 Fun fact: Server errors are always called „critical“, but the real crisis is usually that the coffee has run out.

In short: Sorry for the forced break. From now on the mill is running again - and hopefully more stable than my hospital bed. 😉
